President Obama signs into law today the Senate Health Care Reform Bill passed by the House on Sunday, March 21st. Immediately after the signing, the Senate will take up debate on The Reconciliation Act of 2010 which is the second piece of the Health Care Reform legislation put forth by the Democrats.
As pundits continue to evaluate the process, the contents, and the affects of this legislation the important issue is Health Care Reform sought for decades by the Democratic party is issued into law today. It is a platform from which they will launch by their own admission changes to our system of government that many believe will change the very nature of the Republic.

To that end, Rep. Michele Bachman (R-MN) filed legislation yesterday to begin the repeal process. Unfortunately, the President still holds veto power so the likelihood of repeal is slim to none. The next defense is the filing in the courts by several state attorneys immediately following the President's signing of the bill. Many states feel the bill under the Commerce Act is unconstitutional in requiring, "mandating" that all persons purchase insurance.
States are also angered by the Federal government passing to the states the financial responsibility of paying for the increase in persons who will now be added to the Medicare and Medicaid programs. In addition, States feel the Federal government will use their "reimbursement" portion of these fees as a political hammer through which they could leverage greater control over state governments. The bill could bankrupt states as well as the Federal government.
In reality, the best way to repeal this legislation is to vote more Republicans into office in 2010 regaining a majority in both the House and the Senate. Next, we must remove Barack Obama from the White House in 2012. The Democrats immediately will run a PR campaign on the "giveaways" of this program which they have very astutely designed to kick in early in the program. We must be sure to tell the truth on the cost and effects these programs will have on small business, the engine of growth in our country; and our seniors who have given their lives to build the American dream. Get involved in your districts. Watch for any irregularities at the polls. Rebuild the American Dream!
